After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, Dr. Lee Atkinson received his Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) degree in 1994 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated on the President’s list with Cuma Sum Laude Distinction. After completion, he returned to Lloydminster where he began his practice at the Lloydminster Chiropractic Centre. Both Dr. Atkinson and his wife, Shelly, were raised in Lloydminster and were happy to return home and raise their family of three boys.
Dr. Atkinson strives to maintain a patient focused approach to health care. He believes that care is a process of listening to the patient and recognizing lifestyle patterns in order to find the cause of the ailment. He utilizes a variety of chiropractic techniques to locate and resolve the presenting problem. A commitment to networking with other professionals is required to ensure the patient receives the most appropriate and effective care available.
Raising three boys involved in sports has lead to an understanding and specific interest in sports injuries. Dr. Atkinson has been active in the Lloydminster sports community himself, having been a past Director and Coach in the Lloydminster Minor Hockey Association and a former Lloydminster Lancer (currently the Lloydminster Bobcats) and LCHS Baron. Having recently completed a comprehensive course in concussion management and baseline testing, he is able to perform a series of physical and cognitive tests and based on new research, provide a overview of healthy brain function. This information provides valuable information to help make safer ‘return to learn’, ‘work’ and ‘play’ decisions.
Lloydminster Chiropractic Centre welcomes new patients as well as past families. Dr. Atkinson looks forward to the challenge of helping you feel your best.
